Opportunities For Sales

Matrix Key:  Financial Viability - Marketing and Sales - Opportunities For Sales

"Ability is of little account without opportunity." - Napoleon Bonaparte

We talk a lot about sales because sales is the heartbeat of every business. On the WholeLife Matrix, sales is a key component of Financial Viability. It doesn't matter if you make widgets or provide services, you must focus on getting people to buy.  Sales don't just show up on your doorstep.  In order to create sales, you must know how and where to create opportunities for sales, and you must consistently take action to create those opportunities.

Here are the four best ways to create opportunities for sales:
  1. Referrals
  2. Social Networking
  3. Upselling Current Customers
  4. Re-engaging Prior Customers
Sales is a process of having conversations with people who have a need for your product or service.  The more conversations you have, the more sales you have.  If you put together a plan for creating sales and use these four tools for finding opportunities, you will soon have a wealth of possibilities for winning in a competitive marketplace.

You and Your Significant Other

Matrix Key - Relationships - Significant Other

"Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies." - Aristotle

When we read the above quote, we realize that even ancient societies understood the power and importance of relationships.  That's why Relationships is one of the four key quadrants of the WholeLife Matrix.  In order to succeed in balancing your life, you must succeed at being in relationship with people.

Perhaps the most important relationship a person can have is with a significant other, the one other person in your life with whom you share love, time, experience, and partnership.  Whether this person is a spouse or trusted friend, significant others must nurture and prioritize their shared commitment.

There are four important actions that are essential to a successful relationship:

  1. Mutual Love and Respect
  2. Staying Power
  3. Time Together - Connection
  4. Communication
Many people say communication is the key to a long term relationship.  We suggest that all of the above are equally important, and deserve both partners' attention and action.  To make the two of you into that "single soul" that Aristotle describes, there must be effort on both parts, and a desire to go the distance.

We All Just Want to Have Fun!

Matrix Key:  Health and Well-Being - Having Fun

"Don't stop having fun when you get older, because you will get older when you stop having fun." - Zaira Swan

On the WholeLife Matrix, we've included Having Fun as a key component of Health and Well-Being.  For some of us, having fun is what we can do in that last five minutes of the day after we have checked everything off our to-do list.  For others, fun comes first and work comes second.  Either way, having fun is essential to a well balanced and fulfilling life.

It's important to explore what qualifies as fun.  Some of us may view fun as work if it means going to a party at the end of a long day and forcing ourselves to interact with people.  It's key to recognize that fun is a very individual concept.  Fun is what energizes you, excites you, what you look forward to.

Here are four kinds of fun.  What resonates with you?
  1. Recreation and Hobbies
  2. Active Events
  3. Being with Others
  4. Being Alone
If you could spend one hour today having fun, what would you do?  Allow yourself to develop your own definition of fun.  Then make sure to schedule time for that activity, whether it's reading a book or climbing a mountain.  As the old saying goes, "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy."  And what is success worth if it is not at least a little fun?

I still have two spots available on my WholeLife Matrix group call.  A chance for you to get some free coaching from me, we meet every other Tuesday from 11am - noon Pacific time.  Email me to sign up (Ralph@Consulting2Win.com) and I will send you the login information.
