We are Spiritual Beings

Matrix Key: Personal Awareness - Spirit

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience.  We are spiritual beings having a human experience." -  Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

When describing the spirit of a person we might think of the energy they share and convey.  When we talk of spirit we also consider the awareness of a life force beyond the human person.

Think about someone you admire - a person with a high quality of life.  Chances are they have some awareness of life outside of themselves.  People with a spiritual connection often have more energy, better health, and a happier outlook on the world around them.

The WholeLife Matrix identifies four elements of discovering and embracing your spiritual nature:

1. Spiritual Practice
2. Higher Power
3. Life Purpose
4. Enlightenment

Spiritual practices can be anything that helps you connect with the world around you - watching the sunset, physical practices like Tai Chi, contemplative practices like meditation, whatever suits your personality and situation   Out of spiritual practices people discover and strengthen a connection with their Higher Power and their Life Purpose.  Exploration of these three elements leads one towards Enlightenment - an increase in understanding, awareness and insight.

Here at Possibilities Unlimited, we think the spiritual side of your life is essential to a well-balanced life.  If you are not giving time and attention to your spirituality, your table will remain unbalanced, and you will have a harder time achieving success in the other areas of your life.

We continue to offer our Deeper Dive into the Whole Life Matrix, a free bi-weekly discussion of different elements of the WholeLife Matrix. To join the Deeper Dive, email Ralph@Consulting2Win.com, with "Deeper Dive" in the subject line.  We will send you the log-in information for the call.

Start With the Self

Matrix Key:  Personal Awareness - Self

"Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart.  Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes." - Carl Jung

Why is it important to be self-aware?  Why do we include that as a component of the WholeLife Matrix?  Because everything we are and do in life begins with the self.  The essence of being begins with the self.  And if we take time to be in tune with our self, we will be much better equipped to contribute to the world around us...our relationships, our business, and our community.

So how do we become self-aware?  The WholeLife Matrix breaks self-awareness into four key components:
  1. Psychological Awareness
  2. Energy Field
  3. Embodiment
  4. Physical Awareness
Our "self" is much more than just some thinking about what we want to do and be.  Our "self" is an intricate cross section of several integral concepts and thoughts.  In order to be truly self-aware, we have to devote time and energy to discovering our "self."  Scheduling time in your calendar to develop your self-awareness will show up in all your activities, and will give you the power to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Personal Awareness

Matrix Key:  WholeLife Matrix - Personal Awareness

"You cannot consistently perform in a manner which is inconsistent with the way you see yourself." - Zig Ziglar

The world is a very busy place, and every day we have many demands for our time and attention.  Technology keeps information and input at our fingertips, and makes it convenient for people to contact and connect with us.  With all of this data coming in, it's easy for our inner selves to get lost in the jumble.  It is very important for everyone to take time to find himself within all the chaos of daily life.  Where do you fit in the mix of your life?  Do you feel like you have a purpose?  Do you feel like life is happening to you or with you?

Personal Awareness is one of the four primary quadrants of the WholeLife Matrix.  If we are not personally aware, we cannot be in sync with the world around us.  We cannot see where we fit in and then joyfully go about relating to the world from that perspective.  We should each schedule time to reflect on who we are being in the workplace and the world.

Have you thought about your relationship with each of these parts of your life?
  1. Self
  2. Spirit
  3. Community
  4. Environment
How do you show up in each of these areas?  You can see that personal awareness in both internal and external.  We must know ourselves and commune with our internal thoughts and being, but we must also be aware of how we are part of the greater community and the world.

You may be only one person, but if you know where you fit in, you will find happiness, fulfillment and success in your corner of the cosmos.

The WholeLife Matrix

The WholeLife Matrix is a system for creating happiness and success in business.  It’s a guide to achieving balance in your life. I put everything together in a picture so you can step back and look at it.

The Matrix started with a concept I call the Table of Life.  I realized that there were four basic components of life and business:  financial viability, relationshipshealth and well-being and personal awareness. I looked at it and thought that it was like the four legs of a table.  I noticed that where you spent your time and attention, that leg of the table got longer.  So those people who spent all their time on making money, that leg of the table got longer and the other legs suffered.  I recognized that people who were in balance focused equally on all of life's components.  This balance allowed them to maintain an abundant life without dropping anything off the table!

Everything in this matrix happens in time.  Everything in life happens in time.  The only way to impact each quadrant of the WholeLife Matrix is to schedule time in your calendar for each activity.  You will see that time is the central thread that runs through the entire matrix.

As we drill down into the matrix, there are several groups of sub quadrants guiding you through 272 specific actions.  Through this blog I will lead you through the different quadrants and examine how these specific actions will lead you to achieving balance in your life.
